Searching and Filtering Transactions

The Finance Ledger provides search and filtering tools to help you find specific transactions quickly.

Opening the Ledger

  1. Navigate to the Financial Dashboard.
  2. Click the Ledger tab under the page title.

Quick Tabs

The tabs at the top of the ledger filter the list in one click: All, Income, Expenses, Needs Review, Missing Receipt, Uncategorized, and Large. Each tab shows how many transactions it holds. Click an active tab again to turn it off, or click All to clear every filter.

Search

Type in the search box next to the Filter button to find transactions by description, vendor, category, check number, receipt line item, animal tag, group, or tag. Results update as you type.

Filter Options

Click Filter to open more filters. You can combine as many as you like:

FilterOptions
TypeAll, Income, Expense
CategoryAll categories, or select a specific category
VendorAll vendors, or select a specific vendor
PaymentCash, Check, Debit, Credit, Sale Ticket
ReceiptAll, Has receipt, Missing receipt
AttentionAll, Needs review, Uncategorized, Missing vendor
AmountAll amounts, Over $1,000, Over $5,000, Under $250

The Filter button shows a number when filters are active, even with the panel closed.

Active Filter Chips

Each active filter appears as a chip above the transaction list. Click a chip's × to remove just that filter, or click Clear all.

Resetting Filters

Click Reset filters in the filter panel to clear all filters and return to the full list.

Sorting

Click the Date or Amount column header to sort by it. Click the same header again to reverse the order. On phones, the list is always grouped by date, newest first.
