Tracking Pasture History
Every time an animal moves to a new pasture, the previous assignment is preserved as history. This gives you a complete record of where each animal has been.
How History Works
Each pasture assignment is tracked as a movement record with:
- Pasture name — Which pasture the animal was in.
- Turn-in date — When the animal entered the pasture.
- Active status — Whether this is the animal’s current pasture or a past assignment.
- Days in pasture — How long the animal was (or has been) in that pasture.
Where to View History
- Animal record — The animal’s detail page shows past and current pasture assignments.
- Pasture detail — The pasture view shows all animals currently assigned and the history of animals that have been there.
Use Cases
- Grazing rotation tracking — See how long animals stayed in each rotation before moving.
- Stocking rate analysis — Review how many animals were in a pasture over time.
- Health investigation — If an animal gets sick, check which pastures it has been in recently.
