Financial Dashboard Overview

The Financial Dashboard is your central hub for managing all income and expenses in Cattle360. The Overview tab gives you a snapshot of your operation's financial health with charts and key numbers, and the Ledger tab lists every transaction.

Summary Cards

Five cards run across the top of the Overview for the selected date range:

  • Income — Total income. Click to open the ledger showing income only.
  • Expenses — Total expenses. Click to open the ledger showing expenses only.
  • Net — Income minus expenses. Displays in red when negative.
  • Needs review — How many transactions need attention, with the number missing a receipt and the number uncategorized. Click to open the review queue.
  • Transactions — How many transactions are in the range, and how many are over $1,000.

When the date range is Year-to-Date, Month-to-Date, or a custom range, the Income, Expenses, and Net cards also show how much they went up or down compared with the same span of the previous period (for example, “vs same time last year”). Green means the change is good news; red means it is not.

Cash Flow Chart

The Cash flow chart shows income (green) and expenses (blue) side by side for each period, with a black line for the net. The chart groups by week, month, quarter, or year depending on how long the date range is. Hover over (or tap) any period to see its exact income, expenses, and net. Click Table to see the same numbers as a table.

Breakdowns

  • Expenses by category — Where your money went, with each category's dollar amount and share of total expenses. Click a category to see its transactions in the ledger.
  • Income sources — The same breakdown for income, such as livestock sales.
  • Top vendors — The vendors you spent the most with. Click a vendor to see its transactions.

Smaller categories and vendors are folded into an Other row so the bars always add up to the total.

Key Stats

  • Profit margin — Net as a percentage of income.
  • Avg. monthly expenses — Total expenses divided by the number of months in the range.
  • Head sold — How many animals were sold on sale tickets, and the average sale amount per head.
  • Receipt coverage — The share of expenses that have a receipt attached. Click to see the expenses that are missing one.

Needs Review and Largest Transactions

  • Needs review — A few of the transactions that need attention, each tagged with what is missing. Click one to edit it, or click Open queue to see them all.
  • Largest transactions — Your biggest transactions over $1,000. Click Show all to see the full list in the ledger.

Primary Actions

The buttons at the top right of both the Overview and the Ledger let you:

  • Date range (shows the current range, such as All Time) — Change the date range for all dashboard data.
  • Export — Export transactions for QuickBooks.
  • Tax Packet — Download a packet for your tax preparer.
  • Add Receipt — Upload and scan a receipt.
  • Add Transaction — Record new income or expenses.

Mobile View

On phones, the top-right buttons are in the Actions menu, and the ledger shows transactions as a list grouped by date. A floating action button (FAB) in the bottom-right corner gives you quick access to:

  • Add Transaction
  • Add Receipt
  • Add Vendor
  • Add Category

Who Can See Financial Data

Financial data is limited to the account owner and Admin users. Managers, Readonly, and Reference users do not see the Finance section at all — the menu item is hidden for them, and the underlying records are not available to them. See Managing Users for what each role can do.
