Moving Animals Between Groups
You can move animals from one static group to another in a single action, rather than removing them from one group and adding them to another separately.
How to Move Animals
- Navigate to the Group containing the animals you want to move.
- Select the animals you want to move.
- Click Move (or Bulk Actions > Move Animals).
- Select the destination group from the list.
- Confirm the move.
What Happens
- The selected animals are removed from the current group and added to the destination group.
- All animal records remain unchanged — only group membership is updated.
- The animal counts on both groups update immediately.
Move vs. Add
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Move | Animal leaves the source group and joins the destination group. |
| Add to Group | Animal is added to a new group but remains in its current groups too. |
Use Move when the animal should only be in one group (e.g., moving from one pen to another). Use Add when the animal should belong to multiple groups simultaneously.
Tips
- Use groups to represent physical locations. Moving animals between groups mirrors physical pen or pasture changes.
- Move in bulk. Select multiple animals to move an entire batch at once, such as when sorting animals after a working.
