Editing a Group

You can update a group’s name, dashboard visibility, active status, criteria (for smart groups), and column settings at any time.

How to Edit a Group

  1. Navigate to the Groups screen.
  2. Click on the group you want to edit.
  3. Click Edit Group.
  4. Make your changes on the Details, Dashboard card, Criteria (smart groups only), or Columns tabs.
  5. Click Save.

What You Can Change

  • Name — Rename the group at any time.
  • Show on Dashboard — Toggle whether the group appears on the main dashboard.
  • Active — Mark the group as active or inactive. Inactive groups are hidden from most views.
  • Dashboard card — Pin the group to one of the three headline cards in the Dashboard’s Current herd totals strip and choose the stats shown under its head count. See Customizing the Herd Totals Cards.
  • Criteria (smart groups only) — Update the filter criteria to change which animals are automatically included, including age filters and exclusions.
  • Columns — Change which data columns display when viewing the group.

You can also duplicate a group rather than editing it, when you want a variation and need to keep the original. See Duplicating a Group.

What You Cannot Change

  • Group Type — You cannot switch a group between Static and Smart after creation. Create a new group if you need a different type.
