Recording Pasture Maintenance

Track maintenance activities like fertilizing, spraying, mowing, and fencing to keep a complete record of pasture upkeep and costs.

How to Add a Maintenance Record

  1. Open the pasture.
  2. Navigate to the Maintenance section.
  3. Click Add Maintenance.
  4. Fill in the details:
    • Type — The maintenance activity (e.g., fertilizing, spraying, mowing, fencing, water system).
    • Amount — The quantity of product applied or work performed.
    • Date — When the maintenance was performed.
    • Cost per Acre — The cost of the maintenance per acre.
    • Notes — Any additional details about the work.
  5. Click Save.

Tracking Costs

Recording cost per acre on maintenance activities helps you understand the total cost of maintaining each pasture over time. You can review maintenance records to see cumulative spending and plan budgets for upcoming seasons.

Tips

  • Log maintenance as it happens. Creating records promptly ensures nothing is forgotten.
  • Include product details in notes. Recording the specific fertilizer blend or herbicide used helps with future planning and regulatory compliance.
  • Review maintenance history annually. Reviewing past records helps you decide which pastures need attention and budget for the coming year.
