Farm and Herd Settings

Farm settings let you configure the basic details of your operation, including your farm name, livestock type, and other preferences that affect how Cattle360 works for you.

How to Access Farm Settings

  1. Click Settings in the navigation menu.
  2. Select Farm Settings (or Herd Settings).

What You Can Configure

  • Farm / Ranch Name — The name of your operation. This appears throughout the app.
  • Livestock Type — The type of livestock you manage (e.g., Cattle). This determines which animal types, sexes, and production features are available.
  • Default settings — Preferences that apply to new records, such as default birth weight.

Livestock Type

The livestock type setting configures the entire app experience:

SettingWhat It Affects
Animal typesAvailable types (Bull, Cow, Calf for cattle)
Sex optionsAvailable sexes per animal type
Production featuresCalving is available for cattle; terminology adjusts for other species
Gestation periodExpected due date calculation (283 days for cattle)

Tips

  • Set up farm settings first. Configure your farm name and livestock type before adding animals so all records are consistent from the start.
  • Contact support to change livestock type. Changing the livestock type after adding animals may affect existing records. Reach out to support for help if needed.
