Creating a Standard Task

A Standard task is a reminder you check off yourself — useful for anything that isn’t tied to a specific bulk action against a group of animals.

How to Create a Standard Task

  1. Click Tasks in the navigation menu, or find the “Upcoming Tasks” panel on the Dashboard.
  2. Click New Task.
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Title — A short description of the task (e.g., “Wean spring calves”). Required.
    • Description (optional) — Additional detail.
    • Due Date — Required.
    • Priority — Low, Medium, or High.
    • Task Type — Leave this set to Standard (mark as done manually).
    • Assigned To (optional) — Who the task is assigned to.
    • Notify (optional) — Additional people to notify about this task.
    • Notify when due / Notify when completed — Checkboxes controlling which notifications go out.
  4. Click Save.

Anyone you assign the task to is automatically included as a subscriber, even if you don’t add them separately under Notify.

Tips

  • Use priority to sort your workload. The Tasks page and Dashboard panel both show priority, making it easy to see what’s most urgent.
  • For anything tied to a set of animals and a future bulk action, use an Action task instead. See Creating an Action Task.
