Tasks Overview

Tasks help you keep track of what needs to happen on your operation and when. Cattle360 supports two kinds of tasks: Standard tasks you check off yourself, and Action tasks that automatically run a bulk action against a set of animals once they’re due.

Standard vs. Action Tasks

  • Standard — A reminder with a title, due date, priority, and assignees. You mark it complete yourself once the work is done.
  • Action — A task tied to a specific bulk action (like recording a sale or weaning a set of calves) and a list of target animals, set up in advance. When it’s due, you review it and click Execute to run the action — it never runs automatically on its own.

Where Tasks Appear

  • Dashboard — The “Upcoming Tasks” panel shows your next few tasks with quick complete/execute buttons.
  • Tasks page — Click Tasks in the navigation menu for the full list of every task, with filtering and row actions.
  • Notifications — Assignees and subscribers can be notified when a task becomes due and when it’s completed.

Getting Started

  1. Create a Standard task for anything you need to remember to do yourself. See Creating a Standard Task.
  2. Create an Action task when you already know which animals a future action will apply to (e.g., calves you plan to wean next month). See Creating an Action Task.
  3. Check the Dashboard or Tasks page regularly to complete or execute what’s due.
