Completing and Executing Tasks

How you close out a task depends on its type: Standard tasks are marked complete by hand, and Action tasks are executed to actually run their configured bulk action.

Marking a Standard Task Complete

  • From the Tasks page — Open the task’s row-action menu and choose Mark Complete.
  • From the Dashboard — Click the quick-complete button on the task card in the “Upcoming Tasks” panel, then confirm.

Executing an Action Task

  • From the Tasks page — Open the task’s row-action menu and choose Execute.
  • From the Dashboard — Click the lightning-bolt quick-action button on the task card, then confirm.

Executing runs the action you configured (e.g., recording a sale or weaning) against the task’s target animals and marks the task complete.

Execute is only available once the task’s due date has arrived. If you try to execute a task early, Cattle360 blocks it with a message that the task isn’t due yet.

Tips

  • Review before you execute. Once you execute an Action task, its bulk action runs immediately against every target animal — there’s no undo for actions like recording a sale or death.
  • Use the “Show completed” checkbox on the Tasks page if you need to look back at tasks you’ve already completed or executed — the list hides them by default.
