Duplicating a Report

Duplicating a report gives you a new report pre-filled with the original’s columns and criteria. When you need the same report with one filter changed — a different year, a different pasture, a different owner — copying is far quicker than building it again.

How to Duplicate a Report

1. Go to the Reports dashboard.
2. Find the report you want to copy and click the copy icon on its card.
3. The Duplicate Report window opens, pre-filled from the original and named “[original name] (Copy)”.
4. Change the name and adjust the columns or criteria as needed.
5. Click Save.

Nothing is saved until you click Save. Closing the window creates no report, and the original is never modified.

What Gets Copied

A report stores no results of its own — it runs its criteria fresh each time you open it — so the copy produces up-to-date data as soon as it is saved.

When to Duplicate

• Year-over-year reports — Copy “2025 Calf Crop” and shift the date range.
• Same report, different slice — Copy a herd inventory report and add a pasture or owner filter.
• A shared starting point — Build one report with the columns your operation likes, then copy it as the base for every new report.
• Testing a change safely — Copy a report you depend on before experimenting with its criteria.

Tips

• Rename first, then edit criteria. It’s easy to lose track of which copy is which once you have three.
• Copies are the fastest way to reuse a column set. Choosing report columns takes the longest; duplicating skips it entirely.
• Duplicate before a big edit. If you’re about to rework a report other people use, copy it first and rework the copy.
