Built-in Reports Overview
Alongside the reports you build yourself, Cattle360 ships five built-in reports that answer questions every operation asks. They pull from data a custom report cannot reach — treatment records and breeding records — and come with their own charts and summary metrics.
Where to Find Them
Go to Reports. They are listed under Built-in Reports on the dashboard.
Built-in reports require a paid plan. On a free plan the section shows an upgrade card in place of the five tiles.
The Five Reports
| Report | Answers |
|---|---|
| Vaccinations | What have we given, to whom, and when? |
| Withdrawal / Waiting Period | Which animals can’t go to town yet? |
| Booster & Treatment Due | What is due, or overdue, for a second shot? |
| Calving Window | Who is due to calve, and when? |
| Pasture Inventory | How many head are standing where? |
Each has its own article.
How They All Work
Every built-in report uses the same screen, so learning one teaches you all five.
- Open the report. It starts empty, with a prompt to set criteria.
- Click Edit Criteria and set your filters.
- Click Run Report.
Clear resets the filters back to their defaults. The record count sits under the report’s name once it has run.
The Criteria Panel
The same filters as a custom report or a smart group: status, type, sex, color, pasture, owner, group, exclusions, sire and dam, breeding status and conception, age, last seen on a check, and the date ranges for birth, weaning, purchase, sale and death.
Two of the reports add a days-ahead box at the top of the panel — Include boosters due within and Include calvings due within — offering 30, 60, 90 or 120 days, defaulting to 30.
The criteria are not saved. They apply to the run in front of you; reopening the report starts fresh. If you need a saved set of filters, build a custom report instead — see Creating a Custom Report.
At a Glance, and the Charts
Results open with an At a glance strip of summary metrics calculated from the rows in front of you. Metrics that want attention are highlighted, and each has a View matching records link that opens just those rows in a dialog. View records at the top right shows or hides the full table.
Below that, Patterns & breakdowns charts the results — bar breakdowns by category, and timelines where the report has dates worth laying out. Both sections are worked out from the current results, so they change as you change the filters.
Opening an Animal
Rows are linked to the animal behind them. Click through from the report to the record whenever a number looks wrong or needs acting on.
Exporting
Once a report has run, the menu button in the header offers Export as CSV and Export as PDF. The printed version carries the report name, when it was generated and the record count; the charts and the toolbar are left off the page.
The Identifier Column
The first column is headed with whatever your account identifies animals by — ear tag, EID, freeze brand, other tag, or one of your own custom fields. It follows the setting in Settings → Default Settings, so all five reports agree with the rest of Cattle360.
Built-in vs. Custom Reports
- Built-in reports reach data a custom report cannot — individual treatment rows and breeding rows, with the dates calculated against today.
- Custom reports are saved and reusable, with columns you choose. Built-in reports are run-and-read.
- Custom reports return one row per animal. The health reports return one row per treatment, so an animal can appear more than once.
Tips
- Filter by group or pasture first. On a report that returns one row per treatment, a whole-herd run gets long fast.
- Use the At a glance metrics as the starting point, not the table. Clicking through a metric is usually faster than scanning rows.
- Export the PDF for anyone who needs it on paper — the withdrawal report in particular is worth having on the wall before a sale.
