Managing Weather Locations

Cattle360 shows a local forecast on the Dashboard. You can save several places — the home place, a lease, the sale barn — and switch between them without leaving the Dashboard.

Opening the Locations Window

There are two ways in:

• From the Dashboard — Click the location button in the Local weather header, then choose Manage locations.
• From Settings — Go to Settings → Default Settings → Weather Locations and click Manage Locations.

Adding a Location

You can add a location two ways:

1. By ZIP code — Enter a 5-digit ZIP, optionally give it a name (for example “Home place”), and click Add ZIP. Left unnamed, the location shows as “City, State”.
2. From your current position — Click Use my location. Your browser will ask permission to share your location; allow it to save the place you’re standing.

The first location you add automatically becomes the default. You can save up to 10 locations per account; once you reach the limit, remove one before adding another. Adding a place you have already saved is rejected rather than duplicated — two points close enough to share a forecast count as the same place.

Renaming and Removing

• Rename — Click the pencil icon, type the new name, and press Enter (or click the check). Press Escape to cancel.
• Remove — Click the trash icon on the location.

Naming locations for how you talk about them — “North lease”, “Sale barn” — is more useful than leaving them as city names.

Setting the Default Location

Click the star next to a location to make it the default. The starred location is the one the Dashboard opens with in a new session, and it sorts to the top of the list. A filled star marks the current default.

Switching Locations on the Dashboard

1. On the Dashboard, find the Local weather panel.
2. Click the location button in its header.
3. Pick a location from the menu. The forecast reloads for that place.

Each saved location shows its city, state and ZIP in the menu, so several nearby places stay easy to tell apart.

If No Forecast Appears

• If you have no locations saved, the weather panel offers an Add a location button that opens this window directly.
• If Use my location does nothing, your browser is likely blocking location access for the site. Add the place by ZIP code instead.

Tips

• Save the places you make decisions about — where you’ll be working cattle, hauling to, or putting up hay — not just where you live.
• Star the one you check most. That’s the forecast waiting for you each morning.
• Weather locations are account-wide. Everyone on the account sees the same saved list.
