Exporting a Check
A check can leave the screen as a spreadsheet or a printed sheet — for the clipboard on the dash, for a hired hand going back out to look, or for your own records.
How to Export
- Open the check.
- Click the export icon in the header.
- Choose Export as CSV or Export as PDF.
The export button is on a finished check as well as an open one — a sheet is wanted just as often after the fact.
Files are named for the check and its date, for example Check - North Pasture - 2026-09-15.
What Is Included
Both exports carry the whole roster, not what the filters are showing. A sheet has to account for every animal on the check; the Status column is what narrows it down afterwards. Rows come out in whatever order the roster is currently sorted in.
Status reads Found, Not Found, or To Find — the last of these only on a check still in progress.
CSV Columns
Status, Ear Tag, Name, EID, Freeze Brand, Tattoo, Other Tag, Type, Sex, Color, Dam, Rostered From, Unexpected, Found On.
PDF Columns
Status, Ear Tag, Name, Type, Sex, Color, Dam, Rostered From, Unexpected, Found On.
The secondary identifiers are left to the CSV — the full set won’t fit across a page at a readable size, and these are the ones you actually match an animal on in a pen. The sheet is headed with the check’s name, when it was started and finished, the found-of-total count, the not-seen count, the targets it covered, your note, and when it was printed.
About Two Columns
- Dam is filled in only when the dam is on this same roster. A check carries no tag for one that isn’t, and a bare id in a printed column would tell you nothing.
- Rostered From names the pasture or group the animal came from — blank for a stray you added mid-check, which came off no roster.
On the Mobile App
In the Cattle360 mobile app the file is built on the device and handed to the system share sheet, so you can save it, email it or send it on. On the web, Export as PDF opens your browser’s print dialog — choose Save as PDF as the destination, or print it straight to paper.
Tips
- Sort the roster before exporting. The file comes out in the order on screen, so switch to Identifier A–Z if you want a sheet in tag order.
- Print the sheet before a second loop. Filter to the not-seen animals by sorting the CSV on Status, or just hand over the printed sheet and let whoever rides it work the list.
