Quick Actions from the Dashboard

The Dashboard carries a row of quick action buttons so you can start the most common jobs without going through a menu. Several of them — the CSV tools in particular — are only reachable from here.

Available Quick Actions

• Add Animal — Opens the add animal form. See Adding an Animal.
• Import Animals — Bulk-create animals from a CSV file. Add-only: it never changes an animal you already have. See Importing Animals from CSV.
• Import Weights — Record weights across the herd from a CSV. Requires a paid plan; the button is hidden on a free plan. See Importing Weights from CSV.
• Update from CSV — Fill in fields on animals you already have, mapping your own column headings onto Cattle360 fields. Never creates an animal. See Updating Animals from CSV.
• Add Group — Opens the group creation form, for either a static or a smart group. See Creating a Static Group or Creating a Smart Group.

Which CSV Tool Do I Want?

All three let you match your file against a built-in tag or one of your own custom fields, and all three show you what will happen before anything is written.

Using Quick Actions

1. From the Dashboard, click the quick action for the job you want.
2. The relevant form or page opens.
3. Fill in the details and save, or upload your file and follow the page.

Adding Animals from a Group Card

You can also add animals from within a group card on the Dashboard:

1. Click on a group card to open the group.
2. Click Add Animal from within the group.
3. The new animal is automatically added to that group when saved.

Tips

• Use group-level add for organization. Adding an animal from within a group automatically assigns it to that group, saving a step.
• Bookmark the Dashboard. The CSV tools have no nav entry of their own, so this row of buttons is how you get to them.
• Read the summary before you commit. Every CSV tool previews its work first — that preview is the cheapest place to catch a wrong column.
