Bulk Weaning

If you’re weaning a group of calves at the same time, you can use bulk actions to record weaning for multiple animals at once.

How to Bulk Wean

  1. Navigate to a group or animal list containing the animals to wean.
  2. Select the animals by checking their rows.
  3. Click Bulk Actions.
  4. Select Wean Offspring.
  5. Enter the Weaning Date (applied to all selected animals).
  6. Optionally enter individual weaning weights if you have them.
  7. Click Save.

Tips

  • Create a smart group for unweaned calves. Use the “Weaned = No” filter with type = Calf to quickly find all calves that need to be weaned.
  • Record individual weights when possible. Even in a bulk operation, individual weaning weights are more valuable than a group average for performance tracking.
  • Use workings for weaning day. If you’re processing calves through a chute on weaning day, consider creating a working to track all the tasks (weaning, vaccinations, tagging) in one session.
