Scanning Paper Working Sheets

If you worked a chute on paper using a printed working packet, you can photograph or scan the completed pages and upload them. Cattle360 reads them, stages a result for each animal’s tasks, and lets you review everything before it’s committed — nothing is written to your animals automatically.

Opening Scan Batches

1. Go to the Workings dashboard.
2. On the working’s card, tap the scan batches icon (Open scan batches).
3. The Scan Batches screen lists any batches you’ve already uploaded for this working, with counts for pages, candidates, approved, rejected, and committed.

Uploading a Batch

1. Tap Upload Scan Batch.
2. Choose the scanned pages or phone photos of your marked-up packet.
3. Upload them as a batch.

Processing and Reviewing

1. Run processing on the batch. Cattle360 reads the pages, matches them back to the right animals and tasks using the packet’s markers, and produces candidate results.
2. Open the batch to review its candidates:
   • Approve results that are correct.
   • Reject anything that’s wrong or unreadable.
   • Pay closest attention to low-confidence or conflicting reads, which are flagged for review.
3. Commit the approved results. Only then are they applied to the working through the same rules the chute uses — so weights, treatments, notes, retags, and the rest land exactly as if you’d recorded them at the chute.

How the Counts Read

Good to Know

• Review is required by design. Scanned results are always staged for a human to check — they never post straight to live animal records.
• Clean scans read best. Flat, well-lit pages with unobstructed markers and legible handwriting give the most reliable candidates.
• Pair it with the packet. This feature only works with pages printed from Cattle360’s working packet — see Printing a Working Packet.
